Historically Driven by Purpose

Built in the 1920s off the ambitious plans submitted in an international design competition, the neo-Gothic Tribune Tower still stands as a symbol of Chicago’s history and architectural prowess. Nearly a century later, we transformed the longtime home of the Chicago Tribune into a collection of luxury residences ranging from $900,000 to over $7 million in value.

Elegant, Classic, Iconic

To create an interior environment fit for top-tier residences, we focused on honoring the building’s profound past while introducing its new life, beautifully transformed for today’s luxury urban dweller. Paired with harmonious neutrals, rich color palettes are drawn from the buildings exterior, the Chicago River, and its bridges to create a sumptuous, layered, distinctive experience across all 56 floor plans. Units feature white oak hardwood floors, fireplaces with custom stone, 10-foot ceilings, premium appliances, custom millwork, marble flooring in bathrooms, and stunning city views from floor to ceiling windows.

A step inside the private Illinois Street entrance reveals a soaring lobby. Inspired by the well-known Michigan Avenue lobby, its luxury appointments are complemented with striking elements reminiscent of the building’s legendary first chapter. The historic Michigan Avenue lobby, with its oversized map, carved and inset inscriptions, and iconic clock adorned with characters from Aesop’s fables build a mythical story meant make resident’s stop and stare.

Modern expansiveness and timeless elegance create a luxurious sanctuary for the sophisticated residents. The classically designed living spaces feature high ceilings, wide planked hardwood flooring, custom mouldings, and exquisite finishes. The kitchens offers the perfect balance of today’s advanced culinary technology and elegant design. Spaces feature custom-designed cabinetry and quartzite counters, and are equipped with Sub-Zero®, Wolf,® and Miele® appliances. Spa-like, serene and designed for pampering, master bathrooms feature a deep soaking tub and separate shower surrounded by sumptuous marble and mosaic tile.

The 25th floor Crown Lounge and Terrace offers breathtaking views of the city, framed by Gothic spires and intricate embellishments dramatically lit to highlight architectural elements. The residents-only space is furnished and landscaped, with elegant outdoor seating areas encircling the octagonal-shaped levels; the amenity also includes an indoor chef’s kitchen, outdoor grills, a firepit, and herb garden.
