The Gettys Group Companies Founders Named Cornell Hospitality Innovators of the Year
Roger Hill ’87 and Andrew Fay ’87, cofounders of The Gettys Group Companies, have been named the 2019 Cornell Hospitality Innovators by the Leland C. and Mary M. Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship at the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration (SHA). Hill and Fay received their award at the 11th annual Cornell Hospitality Icon and Innovator Awards gala, Tuesday, June 4, at the Pierre Hotel in New York City.
“At The Gettys Group Companies, innovation means designing for tomorrow; in a world where the pace of change continues to accelerate. Today, design is a strategic tool that set brands apart and positions them for success.” said Fay. “Our research-driven, guest-centric design approach enables our experience-based projects to win the hearts, minds and wallets of travelers and locals alike.”
“We are not only architects, designers, branding and procurement professionals — we are also hotel owners and investors. We help guide clients through their hotel projects, from feasibility analysis to project completion,” said Hill. “Our many years of experience and extensive relationships throughout the hospitality industry allow us to navigate the geographic, physical and economic factors that influence projects. By keeping our approach to each project flexible and nimble, we are able to respond quickly as project requirements change, keeping focus on the many things that matter most to our clients, their partners and their guests.”
