Business Development Coordinator

Position Summary

The Coordinator, Business Development must be a capable of interfacing with groups across our organization including Sales, Marketing and Branding as a representative of the Business Development group. This individual will be required to work both alone and in collaborative teams.

This position will report directly to the Manager, Business Development with a dotted line to the Marketing Manager.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications or Marketing

Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will have 2 to 4 years of marketing or communications experience in a sales or marketing capacity, a focus in the hospitality or AEC industry preferred.

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple efforts simultaneously and meet stringent deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently at times with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment
  • Exhibit a willingness to be a team player and get the job done
  • Effective web-based research capabilities
  • Skilled in visual information design and layout
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign are strongly preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce (or similar CRM) and SmartSheet is strongly preferred
  • Understanding of design and/or hospitality industries a plus

Required Skills:

This position will have a wide variety of duties and responsibilities including assisting other BD team members with:

  • The preparation and production of customized, client-specific Proposals and Qualifications packages in response to RFPs and RFQs
  • Planning and preparation around the annual Conference & Event schedule, along with sales blitzes of targeted industry constituents in major cities
  • Scheduling appointments, keeping calendars and arranging travel itineraries for the Business Development team
  • Maintaining SalesForce CRM database
  • SmartSheet administration
  • Weekly/monthly sales report generation
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Branding in a wide range of activities to steward The Gettys Group’s global brand and messaging standards and ensure their universal adoption and correct application
  • Generating leads from database mining and online research, with appropriate outreach to follow up with potential clients
  • Web-based market and client research in support of business development strategies
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive project information files for business development and marketing purposes
