The Blackstone has been known as “The Hotel of Presidents,” for decades as it has hosted 12 separate presidents within its four walls, among them: Warren G. Harding, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Herbert Hoover and John Kennedy.

The restaurant takes its name from the Custom House Levee District (the area now known as Printers Row), best remembered as a turn-of-the-century hotbed of saloons, bordellos, gambling parlors and pawnbrokers instead of ritzy condos, bars and restaurants. The frequently changing menu tries using local and farm-raised products whenever possible. The quail is a must.
